In the complex world of healthcare, the Government has to ensure that any medicines or devices available in this country are safely and appropriately licensed and manufactured. The MHRA have the power to regulate, license, investigate and prosecute. Their key audiences are doctors and the pharmaceutical industry.
Getting the brand right for an organisation that could, on the one hand, create laws and prosecute, and on the other, be the patient's friend was a tricky task.
We created a new brand identity and architecture that ensured a more consistent presence for the MHRA, and a varied visual language that enabled them to have three different tones: regulation, information and promotion.
The Department of Health use the MHRA as a case study for other affiliated bodies considering re-branding.
